This post is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAMHS Practitioner to join Oldham CAMHS Transitions Service and support the development of the CYPMH offer into our local communities. You will work in partnership with early help services and our local multi-agency safeguarding hubs to ensure that our referral pathways are accessible, delivered in true partnership and ensure children, young people and families that need mental health advice and support can get what they need quickly and easily.
You will also lead and manage an established community-based workforce, ensuring that they support the implementation of the Thrive model of care for Children's and Young Peoples Mental Health (CYPMH). You will help ensure that CAMHS Getting More Help and Getting Risk support offers are developed and that those CYP that need help and treatment from CAMHS access it smoothly and at the earliest opportunity. You will work across all CAMHS age groups with a special interest in older adolescents.
Main duties of the job
* Provide line management and clinical supervision to the Mental Health Practitioners within the service.
* Screening referrals and signposting to the wealth of internal and external service providers for children and young peoples mental health across the Borough.
* Be instrumental in identifying gaps in service provision enabling these to be escalated to allow for service and system future planning across the borough.
* Attend panel meetings for various cohorts of young people with specific vulnerabilities such as youth offending service, cared for children panel etc.
* Work alongside colleagues in Social Care, Health, Education and the Police to ensure smooth transition and coordination of care for young people with an identified mental health need in the borough.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Your days will be varied and your work will be completed largely within the core CAMHS service. This role will have high impact locally and in order to be successful you will need:
* Strong CYP mental health knowledge and experience.
* Experience of using training, supervision and consultation as a means of helping other professionals to support the mental health of CYP.
* Good understanding and commitment to the CAMHS transformation agenda.
* Experience of leading others in ways that inspire innovation and excellence.

Person specification
Education
* Registered Nurse – Mental Health with NMC registration/Social worker with SW registration.
* Short courses and/or experience to post graduate diploma level.
Experience
* Highly Developed Knowledge of mental health issues in young people.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and National Policies in relation to children and young people.
* Highly developed knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions with this client group.
* Knowledge and experience of working with older adolescents.
* Knowledge and experience of working with young people with learning disability.
* Evidence of Post qualifying training courses / certificates.
* Experience of screening referrals and allocating to most appropriate service.
* Experience of managing junior colleagues.
Skills
* Ability to perform complex diagnostic assessments as an autonomous practitioner across a range of mental health conditions.
* Ability to develop packages of care based on assessed needs.
* Ability to identify and manage risk in individuals presenting with mental health needs.
* Ability to provide and receive complex sensitive or contentious information often within a hostile, antagonistic or highly emotive atmosphere.
* Ability to act in consultation / supervision / training capacity with professionals.
