About The Role
In your role as a Regional Painter & Decorator at HC-One, you will undertake painting and decorating duties to present the homes to the highest standards, helping HC-One to become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment to meet the needs of Residents and Colleagues. Responsiveness and flexibility are key as the needs of the Homes change.
You will report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Resident, Colleague, self, or another. Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the Care Home’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures is essential. This full-time position will cover multiple care homes; therefore, a driving licence is required.
About You
HC-One is looking for someone with effective engagement and communication skills with Residents, the Home Manager, and other colleagues. You will undertake general painting and decorating in all parts of the Care Home as required, including but not limited to making good any damage prior to decoration, wallpapering, painting of walls, ceilings, and fixtures and fittings. You will also understand and ensure the implementation of the care home’s health and safety policy and emergency and fire procedures, promoting safe working practices in the care home and ensuring all equipment used is clean and well maintained.
You will complete mandatory and specialist training related to your role, on or off-site as required, to maintain and update professional knowledge and competence. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility; therefore, it is important that you can recognize the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm, or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
