The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
This is a great opportunity for an experienced nurse educator who is interested in supporting our registered and unregistered nursing workforce to develop and grow.
We have an opportunity to support our UK-trained and internationally-trained nurses and healthcare support workers to settle into life at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The role will ensure educational support for these staff, for their development within the clinical environment, supporting them to deliver high quality evidence-based care.
We are looking for proactive, knowledgeable, and leadership-focused individuals who will organise, deliver, and review programmes to support nurses as they transition into registered roles, into new clinical settings, and into our organisation.
Main duties of the job
* To provide direct support to both newly recruited registered nurses, established RNs, and health care support workers during their preceptorship period.
* To ensure that the registered nurses and health care support workers are supported in the safe delivery of good quality evidence-based care.
The post holder will work in a supernumerary capacity within the clinical areas (80% of time), working alongside nurses and health care support workers in delivering direct care to support the development of skills and competencies. The clinical practice educators will also deliver clinical skills teaching both within the clinical area and in a classroom environment as required.
The role will work as a link between ward teams (ward managers and preceptors) and the practice development team to support nurses and health care support workers both individually or as teams to develop their clinical skills.
