Our Aviation Team is looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our successful team based in Hounslow.
As Heathrow embarks upon its 7th regulatory period “H7”, Costain was awarded two lots as Major Project Partner and Asset Renewal Partner for Terminal 2 – The Queen’s Terminal.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Costain team at Heathrow as we transform our processes and establish our Continuous Improvement Framework. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for leading process mapping workshops, developing standardised ways of working, and rolling out new standards and guidance to the project delivery team and our supply chain partners. This role will suit a motivated, self-starter who is confident to engage with people and teams at all levels of the organisation.
Ideally, candidates will have a background in infrastructure delivery and be comfortable with attending construction sites as needed, to carry out Time and Motion Studies, GEMBA Walks, and listen to feedback from the site teams to inform the development of new, improved processes. An ability to collect and analyse data is essential for this role, as is the ability to build positive relationships and influence the Client and project delivery teams to drive continuous improvement.
As the role develops, the Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for leading Lessons Learnt sessions with key stakeholders, ensuring Lessons Learnt are reapplied across the H7 Framework and capturing realised benefits for the Client’s benefits register. A background in LEAN and DMAICT is essential and the successful candidates will be able to demonstrate that they are experienced in data collection and analysis to identify and manage improvement projects.

Role Requirements
1. Experience in continuous improvement of project management, having delivered change in similar team environments.
2. Great stakeholder management and influencing to gain agreement from parties with competing objectives.
3. Analytical, with ability to collect, analyze and monitor data over time to identify trends and root causes.
4. Five years minimum experience in leading process improvement, preferably in a complex infrastructure project delivery environment.
5. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 18404.
