The position is funded by a VersusArthritis project grant focused on “Treg Fitness as Biomarker for Disease Activity to Predict Treatment Response in JIA.”
Research Fellow/Research Assistant – Computational Biologist

* Ph.D. or M.Sc. with relevant experience.
* Experience in mathematical modeling, R or Python programming.
* Ability to design new bioinformatic pipelines.
* Knowledge in computational methods for deconvolution of RNA expression data.
* Experience in high-dimensional unbiased analysis (flow cytometry, bulk/single cell RNAseq) is advantageous.
Job Description:
* Conduct computational biology research in collaboration with Dr. Pesenacker’s team.
* Focus on biomarker discovery and validation for JIA disease activity and treatment response.
* Work on Treg fitness signatures measured on RNA or protein level.
* Demonstrate deconvolution of Treg fitness signatures from different RNA sources.
* Integrate and compare gene/protein expression from various sources to analyze Treg fitness.
* Opportunity to contribute to other lab projects involving single-cell multiome, bulk RNA seq, and confocal microscopy analysis.
