Shift Based role - 4 on 4 off - Days based - 6am - 6pm

We have an exciting Maintenance & Engineering Team Leader opportunity to lead a small team of skilled engineers at our Taw Valley Creamery in Devon. This is especially exciting as the creamery is undergoing a major transformation, thanks to a £180 million investment. As this project evolves, so will your role and your team, providing you with a unique chance to influence maintenance and engineering practices.

Key responsibilities
* Champion health, safety, environmental regulations, deliver Maintenance Excellence with the Engineering Team, inspire a food safety and quality mindset at site.
* Use SAP PM to develop, plan and implement preventative & corrective maintenance programs in line with departmental strategy.
* Identify opportunities for process and operational improvement and efficiency gains with a Lean mindset, and implement best practices.
* Manage the delivery of targets to ensure the department achieves its goals.
* Lead the team with Root Cause techniques and coordinate effective resource prioritization in consultation with other functional leads.
* Ensure that the department complies with Arla Foods’ standards and policies as well as the applicable law.
* Lead, coach and develop colleagues based on good leadership and core values.
* Be a role model for digital transformation, work with data driven decision making and promote a digital mindset within the team.
* Monitor and analyze maintenance metrics and KPIs, communicate effectively to report on status of lines and equipment.
* Procure and manage maintenance supplies and equipment, optimizing resource allocation and utilization.
* Complete and update plant maintenance records complying with all departmental procedures.
* Define resources required, work planning and employee scheduling.
* Perform all activities in accordance with company and statutory requirements in order to provide a safe and compliant workplace.
* Embrace and ensure that Arla Digital WOW is communicated and embedded within the department.

* Professional qualification across an engineering discipline (NVQ level 3/ equivalent or higher)
* You are a motivated team player, with drive and ambition
* You will fully understand all statutory law requirements, contractor control regulations and have commercial sense in effective use of budget and resources available.
* Having in-depth knowledge and experience with the T.P.M programme, WCM tool, CMMS system with S.A.P PM knowledge and Office 365 skills would be highly advantageous.
* Preferably leadership experience with a fast-paced regulated environment and bring colleagues on a positive journey.
* Knowledge, experience and able to demonstrate LEAN ways of working/practice.
Arla Taw Valley Creamery
* Our Taw Valley Creamery was established in 1974 and it has been a significant site for cheese production in the UK, and it has undergone various developments and expansions over the years to improve its capacity and capabilities in cheese making.
* We process approximately 1.2 million litres of milk daily; producing over 100t of award-winning cheeses, such as BOB, Castello Tickler, alongside butter and whey powder.
* Our Taw Valley site is soon to receive around £180 Million investment to create a new mozzarella production facility, the 2nd largest single investment in Arla Foods UK.
