We are looking to recruit a Buried Services Co-ordinator for a major Civils client of ours in the Dudley area.
Role Overview:
To deliver an effective, efficient, and safe service to the company. Responsible for day to day management of buried service information. Knowledge of PAS 128 as well as the issue of buried services permits is essential.
Responsibilities:
1. To liaise closely with the Projects Engineer & Construction Manager.
2. To comply with all safety requirements.
3. To ensure all site staff are competent with tasks being asked of them.
4. Coordinating buried services systems and liaising with work force.
5. Ensuring Permits to dig are in place.
6. Some basic setting out may be required.
7. Interpreting drawings and designs.
8. Managing Sub-contractors.
9. Providing Progress reports.
10. Continuously updating buried services information.
11. Identifying services and service providers.
12. Advising on the procedures in accordance to PAS 128 Informing site teams.
13. To oversee the works for which they are responsible to the correct specification.
14. To resolve any additional items or problems on site that may delay the project being completed.
15. To correct ways in which production may be enhanced in both time and quality.
16. Liaise with the Site Foremen/supervisor to provide advice to them as required to ensure that their performance is satisfactory and that they have sufficient workload.
17. Liaise with the estimating department to advise on the feasibility of the projects before aiding with labour, plant and materials, as well as time requirements for the projects.
18. Help to produce all relevant method statements for the planned work.
19. Attend any Project review meetings/health and safety meetings.
20. Liaise with the design department throughout the project as required.
About you:
We are looking for someone with the following:
1. Experience of working to construction and civils H&S standards.
2. Knowledge of completing the NR/L2/MTC/0006 NWR Hazard Notification form.
3. Experience of undertaking buried services duties, such as acquiring permits to dig, CAT Scanning and a good understanding of SSOW.
4. A positive attitude with high level of commitment to challenges.
5. Excellent IT skills with knowledge of programming software.
6. Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
7. Excellent organisational skills.
Qualifications:
1. H/617/1417 EUSR Service Avoidance, category 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2 in Utility Avoidance and Buried Services.
2. Car Driving Licence.
3. SMSTS.
4. CSCS Card.
5. Degree level Qualification in either Project Management, commercial Management, Civil Engineering or the equivalent experience.
