Job Introduction
BBC Radio Nottingham is looking for a talented creative presenter to entertain and inform audiences across Nottinghamshire. This is a unique opportunity to broadcast to our vibrant city and county as the breakfast show host. The breakfast show is a fast paced, daily mix of current affairs and local stories that matter to the people of Nottinghamshire.
You will be a passionate Presenter that inspires and engages our listeners. Every day, you’ll make BBC Radio Nottingham famous for its deep connection to the people we serve.
Main Responsibilities
* You will produce and/or present content on all digital platforms.
* You will contribute to the planning and generation of ideas.
* You will have the ability to move between speech and music production/presentation and be equally at ease with both.
* You will be able to cope with delivering breaking stories on air and off air.
* You will be able, where appropriate, to contribute to other BBC services.
* The amount of time spent broadcasting will vary and will include radio shows, social media ‘lives’, TV guest appearances, and filming for social media pre-recorded material.
Are you the right candidate?
* You will be an experienced presenter preferably with breakfast experience and used to speech radio.
* You’ll be comfortable holding politicians to account while also being entertaining and making the audience smile.
* As a presenter, you’ll need to create a great emotional connection and be “one of them”. Your content needs to be real and relatable.
* You will celebrate, commiserate, and commemorate with the audience.
* You’ll be in touch with what the audience cares about and be able to bring that to life in a creative and entertaining way.
* You will have strong ideas about what makes great breakfast radio and work well in a team to create award-winning audio.
