Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are groups of GP practices working together to deliver enhanced patient care. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking General Practice Assistant (GPA) to join a multidisciplinary team as PCNs expand and introduce new roles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hold a GP Assistant Certificate qualification.
2. Engage in annual performance reviews and take responsibility for personal/professional development.
3. Support colleagues by demonstrating skills and providing guidance.
4. Maintain professional boundaries and communicate development needs to the lead GP.
5. Ensure high-quality care by alerting the team to risks and improving team performance.
6. Manage your workload and collaborate with other agencies to meet patient needs.
7. Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and external agencies, adapting communication methods as needed.
8. Adhere to practice policies and participate in audits when required.
Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts.
Salary: £12 - £14 per hour, depending on experience.
Location: London - must commute reliably or relocate before starting.
Work Authorisation: United Kingdom required.

Main Duties of the Job
Duties:
1. Sorting all clinical posts and prioritising for the GP in terms of actions. Signposting some posts to others such as clinical pharmacists.
2. Extracting all information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding to notes.
3. Arranging appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments of patients.
4. Preparing patients prior to going in to see the GP, taking a brief history and basic readings in readiness for the GP appointment.
5. Completing basic forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency forms, etc.
6. Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
7. Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies e.g., getting an on-call doctor on the phone to ask for advice or arrange admission while the GP can continue with their consultation.
8. Support the GP with immunisations and wound care.
9. Working under the supervision of a doctor as part of a medical team.
10. Have direct contact with patients, take medical histories, carry out physical examinations, and update records.
11. Make diagnoses, analyze test results, and deliver treatment, supporting clinical care for people with long-term conditions. Consider prescribing and other necessary clinical interventions.
12. Work to a professional code of ethics.
13. Provide varied support and show flexibility in your role.

Qualifications:
* Be familiar in all mediums of communication such as email.
