As you can imagine, children need caring for 365 days a year, so we operate a rota which includes a mixture of mornings, afternoons, weekends and sleep in duties. So, what does a day in the job look like? As well as supporting the children and young people in all aspects of care, helping them to gain new experiences and skills, you will write care plans, complete risk assessments, behaviour support plans and health care plans, always with the child s best interest at heart. You must have experience of either working with children in a residential setting or supporting children with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, mental health challenges, complex health or disabilities. You will have a compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children.
