We are seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to deliver expert cost engineering support for projects, including preparing, monitoring, and controlling forecasts and budgets, with a focus on effective change control. The role involves analysing systems and performance to determine actual expenditures and project accruals, as well as preparing detailed cost reports with trend analysis and issuing early warnings when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct full and detailed SPI, CPI variance analysis and subsequent root cause analysis, followed by provision of narrative, recommendations & recovery planning in accordance with monthly reporting timescales.
* Establish the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and lead on the preparation of cost studies utilising historical data. Developing benchmarking information to meet specific needs.
* Provide trended data to the Project Manager based on performance to date and emerging trends including making recommendations.
* Tracking manpower productivity and analysing time booked to projects including resource usage vs. planned, resource constraints, etc. and make any relevant recommendations to the Project Manager.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in cost engineering within a project environment, including budget management and forecasting.
* Strong analytical skills with experience in SPI, CPI, variance, and root cause analysis.
* Proficiency in relevant cost engineering tools and software, with advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
* Knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies, including change management and resource planning.
