Job Purpose
To line manage and lead a defined team of cleaners to ensure that the IEG group Stamford College and UCP premises are cleaned to a high standard and ready for business operation. This is a working supervisor role to co-ordinate and carry out tasks such as unlocking the premises and taking off the alarm, ordering stock, stock control, maintenance of equipment, planning of works and work rota and carrying out cleaning duties.
Key Responsibilities
• The main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following areas: Assist the Estates Manager with developing a high quality cleaning service for the College and UCP
• Unlock and remove alarm from buildings
• Line manage a team of cleaners to include absence planning, monitoring and reporting, undertaking professional development reviews, delivering training and ensuring compliance
• Plan and rota cleaning tasks
• Monitor and audit cleaning quality and site condition
• Undertake cleaning duties, keep all health and safety inspections and training up to date and ensure compliance
• To respond to unforeseen cleaning requirements in a timely manner appropriate to the job priority
• To assist the Group Director of Estates and Health and Safety and Estates managers in planning and implementing improvement projects, utilising their practical expertise.
• To work core hours but with flexibility to cover events and the needs of the business
• To be fully conversant with the procedures for resetting the fire alarm systems and emergency release system for the disabled persons lift
• To review health and safety implications of work tasks, comply with all relevant health and safety instructions, report issues to the Estates manager and carry out risk assessments as required
• Maintain and report on operational quality standards to the Estates Manager. Monitor standards for cleaning of the building and tidiness of the grounds and where necessary organise remedial action
• Employees are responsible for ensuring that they demonstrate their commitment to providing a protective environment for young people / students; ensuring appropriate supervisions (taking note ages / mental requirements of student groups) and that necessary physical contact with students complies with good practice and the college policies. Additionally, the day to day work environment should be monitored to ensure that a protective environment is being maintained for students.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
• Good general level of education including Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
• Experience in Health and Safety procedures
• Working successfully and influentially as part of a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Good planning, organisation and administrative skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of team with a track record in achieving individual and team results
• Excellent interpersonal skills/good at problem solving
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
• Qualified to Level 3 in relevant trade
• Experience in facilities management
• Experience in supervisory role
• Experience in locking and alarming premises
