Job Description Buying Assistant provide critical admin support to our Buying teams. They help the Buyer and Assistant buyer to develop and select the most exciting fashion ranges that are loved by our 20-something customer. They work collaboratively to ensure that the department runs smoothly, supporting with sample management, updating the critical path and raising orders in line with supplier and brand deadlines. The Buying team is instrumental in making ASOS the first for fashion and trends across womenswear and menswear. Within our Own Buy function, which includes ASOS Design, ASOS White and Collusion, our teams focus on developing and delivering a range that pushes the boundaries and meets the needs of our customer. The Buyers work closely with several business areas including Design, Merchandising, Marketing and Garment Technology, and have relationships with a wide supplier base ensuring that the product we deliver is the best it can be. The Branded buying teams are responsible for creating and sourcing the brand mix for their department, covering big commercial brands through to high-end designers and emerging brands to offer our customer the most exciting fashion trends and create a point of difference in the global market The Details Maintaining the Critical Path and communicating with suppliers to ensure that we meet each key date in the trading calendar and the product runs on time Managing and keeping track of a high volume of samples, through fit sessions, development, shoots, sign off meetings Accurately raising purchase orders in line with supplier/brand deadlines, and managing these throughout the product lifecycle to ensure the range plan is fully up to date Working closely with Merchandising, Design, Production, Technical, Marketing and your Brands/Suppliers daily Delivering efficient administrative support to the team, to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that relevant reports and files are kept up to date at all times Supporting your Buying team with product development that is customer focused and aligns with the wider business strategy, with relevant attention to commercialism, costing, and innovation Conducting regular comp shops to understand competitor activity, identifying opportunities for the department and presenting back ideas to the team Attending relevant systems and soft skills training, to drive your development
