The team support the trading divisions of Greene King in sales ledger activity and all cash collection matters providing world class credit management to all our customers and stakeholders. You will be key in this regard!

Your role as Credit Control Team Leader
Our Credit Management team within FCoE (Finance Centre of Excellence) help to secure the largest asset, the debtor asset within Greene King. The team support the trading divisions of Greene King in sales ledger activity and all cash collection matters providing world class credit management to all our customers and stakeholders. You will be key in this regard!
This is a 10-month maternity cover role managing a team of 7 credit management team members covering the Greene King divisions of Brewing and Brands.
Driving a strong performance culture and delivering synergies across the team with one being in England and the other in Scotland. With the role being based in Bury, appropriate support and visits will need to be made to the team in Belhaven, Scotland.
Developing a very strong customer service ethos and excellent relationships with internal and external customers. The role will require great leadership skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a changing environment that requires you to meet deadlines/targets, as well as support the growth of the 7 direct reports.
Your role as a Credit Control Team Leader will be...
10. Overseeing the Sales Ledger for the Brewing & Brands division covering Free Trade, some On Trade and other types, ensuring overdue debt is escalated quickly to avoid unnecessary risk and potential write offs
11. Supporting the development and managing a team of 7 who cover the credit management activity in of the distinct divisions of the business
12. Managing the collection of payments & release of beer orders
13. Manage the Administration of our Sidetrade Credit Management platform monitoring workflows and evaluating effectiveness of platform putting forward suggestions for changes implementing after agreement
14. You will provide support to colleagues within the immediate team covering periods of leave and absence
15. Appropriately arranging the releasing of orders within scheduled timeframes and to deadline
16. Supervise actions taken dealing with disputed invoices as well as liaising with the legal team on irrecoverable and disputed debt
17. Manage and support escalations made by the team providing appropriate guidance and direction where required
18. Review and manage the oversight of team telephone communication and email queries quickly and efficiently
19. Create an environment where excellent relationships with customers as well as peers in other departments are always the norm
20. Manage appropriately the team in England and team in Scotland, having good understanding of the challenges and sensitivities of managing the remote team in Scotland may bring
21. Ensure manual invoicing function is resourced and adhering to SLA
22. Having a clear knowledge of Direct Debit collection and creating repayments and returned Direct Debits, you will review and communicate improvements that benefits customers, credit management team and stakeholders
23. Manage recruitment requirements having responsibility for maintaining a fully resourced team
24. Commensurate with the position, you will naturally seek to create a world class credit management function. During your 1:2:1’s and objective setting, you will have the ability to motivate, guide and inspire those whom you manage. Whatever skills you bring and no doubt using careful observation, you will put forward initiatives and solutions that cause the credit management team to truly become world class
