Troubador Publishing is seeking a highly motivated Trade Marketing Controller to join the growing marketing team. The trade marketing controller will be responsible for a wide range of book marketing tasks within a busy and exciting marketing department.
This person will be working with authors, colleagues and the trade to give our books the best possible chance of selling to the market. They will be looking to generate trade interest for a range of published books across both the Troubador and The Book Guild brands and promote them to a wide selection of trade accounts and retailers.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role will include:
* Using the company’s marketing processes to market Troubador and Book Guild titles across the trade and retail partners.
* Writing book blurbs and trade information sheets.
* Managing the metadata for books via a dedicated metadata system.
* Updating book content on our Amazon Advantage and Google accounts to enhance sales opportunities.
* Uploading book files to the Amazon Search Inside program to increase discoverability.
* Supporting the Sales and Marketing Manager and the rest of the marketing team as needed.
* Coordinating our quarterly ‘Highlights’ magazine showcasing our best titles.
* Learning how to make books visible to retailers to facilitate stocking on bookshelves.
* Working as an integral part of a close-knit team to help shape new services.
Requirements
Key requirements for this role are:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Strong writing skills with good grammar.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Confidence with technical tasks, including experience with databases and spreadsheets.
* Ability to multitask, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
While not essential, the ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and a strong understanding of the book publishing industry.
