Job Summary:
The Aruba WiFi Network Engineer specializes in Aruba wireless networks and is responsible for configuring, optimizing, and maintaining wireless systems. This role requires extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN, cloud networking, and Aruba wireless networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
1. Maintain data network hardware and systems.
2. Investigate and resolve network and hardware issues.
3. Analyze, isolate, and troubleshoot network errors.
4. Assess and upgrade legacy network components as needed.
Technical Support and Leadership:
1. Provide technical support for both internal and external customers.
2. Respond to technical inquiries and recommend solutions.
3. Lead network problem escalation and resolution.
Network Installation and Configuration:
1. Install and maintain network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and system data for small to medium-sized networks.
2. Deploy network applications on servers and voice equipment.
3. Conduct network testing, maintenance, and problem resolution.
4. Perform network configurations and implement configuration changes on routers or switches.
Documentation and Communication:
1. Prepare network diagrams and drawings to document current operational statuses.
2. Draft proposal documentation to address customer requirements.
Mandatory Skills:
1. Proficiency in Aruba WiFi and Aruba Controllers deployment and maintenance.
2. Experience with Visual RF Ekahau survey and post-deployment surveys.
3. ClearPass and Network Access Control (NAC) expertise.
4. Strong technical documentation skills.
5. Cisco LAN/WAN skills equivalent to CCNA level.
6. Experience with complex routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, and iBGP.
7. Knowledge of Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls (preferred).
8. Experience in configuring and managing IPSec tunnels on firewalls and routers (preferred).
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
2. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field.
3. Experience working with Aruba WiFi networks.
4. Proven experience troubleshooting LAN systems and technical infrastructure.
5. Knowledge of modern network systems, networking principles, and data or video communication.
6. Eligible for or currently possess SC clearance.
