We are looking for Attendance Officer & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Brakenhale School and become an integral member of the Safeguarding team. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated professional to be our Attendance Office & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This is a non-teaching role. The successful candidate will assist on leading and building a world class safeguarding system in which students are valued, proactively identified and support is put in place for them, and their families, in order that they can access education and accelerate their life chances.

Main responsibilities:
* To ensure the school safeguarding systems are rigorous, robust, easy to use and impactful
* To develop and maintain a culture of safety and vigilance in the school
* To work closely with the attendance team, SENCO, and Senior Leadership Team ensuring that students don’t fall through a gap
* To follow up on each safeguarding concern that is raised by staff, referring cases of suspected abuse when necessary to the local authority children’s social care

You will need:
* Safeguarding Awareness Training (previously known as Level 2)
* Good standard of education to at least GCSE Grade C/4 level or equivalent in English and Maths
* Experience of working with vulnerable children and/or adults
* Experience of working in a school environment
