GTS Group are eager to speak to Electrical Engineers specialising in high-power machinery/grid-adjacent equipment, to join our Birmingham-based client who operates a hybrid working model. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and integration of high voltage systems for electric systems, particularly those interfacing with the grid. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of HV products into our client's platforms, maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop high voltage (HV) systems and components for electrical systems, including battery management systems, inverters, electrical power infrastructure, and grid integration solutions. Coordinating with the distribution network operator to address and fulfil new grid connection specifications Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate HV products into their platforms, ensuring compatibility, efficiency, and reliability. Conduct thorough analysis, simulation, and testing of HV systems to verify performance under various operating conditions and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Lead the design and implementation of safety features and protocols for HV systems, including fault detection, isolation, and mitigation strategies. Evaluate and select components, suppliers, and technologies for HV systems based on performance, cost, and scalability considerations. Support prototype builds validation testing, and product launches, identifying and addressing technical challenges throughout the development lifecycle. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the industry, contributing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
