This is a newly created vacancy for a band 8a Clinical Psychologist specialising in neuropsychology and brain injury rehabilitation. This post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. We would be happy to welcome applications from newly qualified clinical psychologists with relevant experience who will be employed at band 7 as part of a band 8a development pathway.
The post-holder will support the provision of neuropsychology services within the Cheshire Acquired Brain Injury Service, working with adults in the community who have sustained acquired brain injuries and their families.
The Cheshire ABI Service is based on the Countess of Chester Health Park. The post-holder will provide clinical input by video consult, in outpatient clinics and in patients' homes; this will require traveling across Cheshire, including rural areas with limited public transport links, often as a lone worker.
• To provide highly specialist neuropsychology assessment, therapy, advice and consultation on ABI clients’ psychological care for clients themselves, carers, professionals, and all other agencies.
• To be accountable for own professional practice within professional guidelines and within the overall management structure of the ABI Service.
• To provide clinical supervision and training to Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists where available and to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• To undertake appropriate research and development projects within the service under the direction of the Service’s Grade 8c Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologists.
The successful applicant will work under the supervision of an 8b Principal Clinical Psychologist. We are a friendly, creative and specialist team consisting of Neuropsychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Case Managers and Vocational Rehabilitation Therapists. We work closely with other community services, local specialist providers, and regional neurosciences centres. We have good links with local DClinPsych programmes.
This post provides an exciting opportunity for the post-holder to develop and consolidate their neuropsychology skills within a long-established and well-regarded community brain injury service.
