Hampshire Hospitals are looking for a dietetic assistant to work alongside our paediatric dietitians to provide high-quality, compassionate health care to the patients under the care of the diabetes service at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Arrange and organise annual review appointments with patients under the diabetes paediatric service.
2. Undertake dietary analysis of food diaries using the department dietary software package.
3. Be actively involved in training students and practitioners from all health and social care professions as appropriate.
4. Assist the dietitians in preparing outpatient clinics.
5. Provide cover for the other paediatric dietetic assistant as required.
6. Work within the British Dietetic Associations’ Dietetic Support Worker and Assistant Practitioner Competency Framework.
7. Take an active role within diabetes education sessions.
8. Record dietetic contacts to help provide workload statistics for the team.
9. Support Dietitians with newly diagnosed diabetes patients on the ward.
10. Support Dietitians with the review of ward patients.
11. Attend meetings and take minutes.
12. Involvement in student support.
13. Preparing clinics – sending out letters for coeliac clinic.
14. Involved in dietetic team admin, including recording dietetic contacts, sending dietary information, organising nutritional products, liaising with nutritional product companies, referral process, support with home enteral feed products, phone answering, and message recording.
