West Lothian Council Justice Services have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Support Worker to the Youth Justice Team. This dynamic team is responsible for assessment, planning and intervention for children, families and young people aged 12 – 20 years.
Whilst this post is primarily based within the Youth Justice Team, the successful applicant will also have an opportunity to utilise their skills within the wider Justice Services and will also undertake supervision of Structured Deferred Sentences, Diversion from Prosecution and Bail supervision.
The successful candidate must have:
1. HNC in Social Care & SVQ Level III
2. Effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
3. Knowledge of child care and adolescent development
4. Experience of working with young people, children and their families
5. Basic knowledge of legislation and the range of resources available to assist young people, children and their families
