In this role, you'll be more than just an apprentice – you'll be a superhero in the making! You'll dive head first into the world of cutting-edge technologies – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, React Native – and watch your ideas come to life, go beyond the basics and conquer the art of data storage with Google Cloud's NoSQL technology and get hands-on with the groundbreaking Gemini AI and see how it can revolutionise the way we develop software.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Software Development Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
* Collaborate seamlessly with the team using GitHub and Monday.com, keeping track of progress in their fast-paced sprints.
* Craft user-friendly and efficient software solutions, ensuring top-notch performance for their customer-facing EPOS systems (think loyalty programmes and order creation!).
* Become a debugging whiz, identifying and fixing all sorts of pesky bugs – from functional errors to system-level issues.
* Dive deep into the world of testing, ensuring their software functions flawlessly from start to finish. You'll be putting your skills to the test with functional, non-functional, integration, end-to-end, and acceptance testing.
* Bridge the gap between code and data sources, making those crucial connections.
* Become a master communicator, collaborating effectively with teammates (including their Managing Director, developers, and commercial director) and external customers. They use a variety of channels to stay connected, from email and face-to-face meetings to Monday.com, and phone call.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours&Benefits:
* £16,000 per annum
* Working Monday-Friday, 12pm-8pm
* Flexible working options
* 28 days holidays including bank holidays

* Potential for hybrid working depending on performance
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
* Excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail.
* Knowledge of coding languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript is desired.
* Passion for coding shown through personal projects.
* Willingness to learn.
* A grade 4 in English and grade 6 Maths at GCSE is required for this role
Your Training with Baltic:
With our unique apprenticeship programme, you'll build an impressive range of coding skills and learn to thrive as a junior developer. On completion, 95% of our learners remain in full-time employment or progress onto our Level 4 Software Developer qualification.
