This role is based at Bathford Paper Mill, where paper has been made for over 200 years.
Job Purpose:
To support the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager in ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and international standards. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally sustainable workplace while promoting a positive safety culture across the organisation.

Essential
1. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of staff.
3. Proactive and able to identify and implement improvements in HSE processes.
4. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
6. Knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
7. Familiarity with risk assessments, SOP writing, and auditing processes.
8. Some understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, including their application and maintenance.
9. Desire to learn and improve Health, Safety and Environmental standards and improve the welfare of the workforce.
10. Capability to investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions.
11. Experience working collaboratively across multiple departments.
Desirable
12. Ideally experience or knowledge in COSHH, waste management, and environmental compliance.
13. Competency in river water sampling and environmental monitoring is advantageous.
14. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
15. IOSH Managing Safely certification.
16. Environmental qualification or training (e.g., IEMA Foundation Certificate).
