We are on the look out for new talent to join our team based in the Crewe depot as a Project Manager. You will communicate with internal departments and suppliers, identify risks and control measures, schedule project meetings, and monitor project performance.
As a permanent contract, you’ll receive a salary of £45,000 per annum with additional benefits inclusive of pension, healthcare cover, life cover, Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme, and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
Although the role will be based out of our Crewe depot, travel to other ATC depots will be required.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will undertake Project Mobilisation activities for Light Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance workstreams, and Facilities as assigned. You will be responsible for all areas of assigned project delivery, including but not limited to:
1. Tracking & reporting on performance against the project plan to agreed timescales.
2. Recording and managing project issues and risks.
3. Supporting the HM Managers with the management of project change.
4. Tracking project finance through periodic dashboards.
5. Managing stakeholders and liaising with suppliers.
6. Initiating project closure, including conducting lessons learned and benefits reviews.
7. Coordinating project meetings and managing subsequent actions.
8. Ensuring HM projects adhere to the processes, controls, and structure detailed in the HM Process Document.
Additionally, you will:
* Support and generate various continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of the overall project team.
* Prepare periodic dashboard data for all project workstreams with analysis and insights that enable members of the project team to identify actions for margin enhancement, efficiencies, and risk management.
* Maintain a project margin tracker for each HM project, reflecting cost, revenue impact, and margin evolution of each project.
* Ensure PM team representation in periodic reviews with the Operations team (i.e., Depot Capacity / Pipeline Planning).
* Establish a database of project cost data based on actual delivery performance from past and current projects.
What do you need to apply?
* Project Management qualification in APM, Prince 2, or other.
* Previous experience in a Project Coordinator/Administrator or Project Manager role is essential.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Excellent working knowledge of O365, Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
* Strong communication skills.
Although not essential, the following would be advantageous:
* Good understanding of traction and rolling stock and rail vehicle maintenance activities.
* Training in Lean techniques such as Six Sigma.
