In our Farmshops, our customers expect the best of what our locality has to offer, and we are looking for colleagues who can specialize in our cheese and deli counter to provide exceptional advice, service, and experience.
As our deli and cheese specialist, you will be an ambassador for Westmorland, describing to customers our unique difference in sourcing products from our local areas. You will have detailed product knowledge, understanding the suppliers, ethics, and methods of where the product comes from and how it is made, and be able to confidently talk to customers and colleagues about all.
You will be the product specialist for all our deli products, including patisserie and cheese, while being multiskilled across the different Farmshop areas to be a valuable member of the team on shift.
You will learn the profitability of different lines to support the Farmshop Manager with increasing the sales of certain products and controlling waste, ensuring stock levels are managed by assisting with ordering, quantities, and reductions in line with customer demand.
Your responsibilities will be to:
* Ensure that your area is always looking its best, creating a fabulous first impression.
* Always commercially trying to sell more through great-looking displays and being different.
* Work with Management and central teams to support onsite training and tastings to upskill all the Farmshop team.
* Feedback ideas on current products and feedback from customers, and suggest new products customers are asking for.
* Consistently deliver perfect brand standards to meet customer expectations.
* Work closely with the Farmshop Manager to ensure colleagues are trained and confident in Deli operations, including cleanliness, standards, and opening and closing procedures.
* Live and breathe the Westmorland Brand, by being passionate about new products and sharing your knowledge and expertise with other colleagues so they can excel in their roles.
* Deliver outstanding customer service.
* Ensure all food and health and safety procedures are adhered to in the Deli areas.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about local produce and delight in sharing their knowledge with others through on-the-job coaching, great customer service, regular tasting sessions in the farm shop, and posting content on our internal colleague social media platform, so good IT skills would be an advantage. We're looking for colleagues who embody our values of warmth, graft, and courage. You should have a friendly, approachable nature, an eye for detail, and a genuine love for connecting with people. If you take pride in a job well done and enjoy creating a welcoming atmosphere, you could be a perfect fit for our team. We are looking for great colleagues from all walks of life and are very open to working flexibly so that you can balance your work and personal time and be your authentic self in our family-run business.
