Job Title:
Environmental and Health and Safety (EHS) Manager
Summary:
In this role, you will implement, oversee, and adapt policies and programs to improve the organization's environmental and safety performance, ensuring compliance with current and future regulations and standards, both internal and external. You will ensure the implementation of MPM Standards to the Abingdon and Didcot Facilities.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Manage environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities to ensure compliance with external EHS regulations and standards as well as internal environmental policies and EHS management systems. Activities may include monitoring environmental performance, conducting safety audits, investigating incidents, preparing reports, implementing waste management programs, and developing EHS training programs.
2. Conduct risk assessments and assist other Site team members in developing appropriate assessments.
3. Act as the ISO management system representative for Environmental & H&S.
4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet established EHS targets (e.g., reducing accidents, minimizing emissions, recycling waste).
5. Align Abingdon and Didcot EHS standards with Momentive corporate standards and assist with gap analysis and standards revisions.
6. Monitor and evaluate overall EHS performance to identify recurring problems and recommend changes to improve performance.
7. Provide technical expertise and advice on EHS issues to managers to help them manage their EHS responsibilities.
8. Maintain positive relationships with local community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders.
9. Keep up-to-date with changes in environmental regulations to ensure EHS policies remain current.
10. Lead and develop a culture to ensure the implementation of the organization's EHS strategy.
11. Participate in regional best practice sharing with other site EHS leaders.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role:
* At least 3 years of EHS experience at a management level in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in ISO 45001/18001 & 14001.
* NEBOSH & Professional Body Membership.
* Good communication, written, and interpersonal skills to work at all levels in the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., chemical, radiation, or controlled environments).
* COMAH experience.
* Working experience in project management.
