Premier Recruitment Group has the privilege to recruit on behalf of our very prestigious client based in Swanley, Kent. We are recruiting for an experienced and forward-thinking Assistant Accountant with a background in accountancy practice. This is a full-time, permanent position and working for a very well-established company. It is an office-based position and requires your own transport due to the location of the role. This is a very interesting and varied role with a scope for progression.
You must be keen to have good interpersonal skills and be comfortable communicating at all levels and working within a team. You will be exposed to a varied portfolio of clients and support them with statutory accounts, VAT returns, and basic tax issues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Statements: Prepare statutory financial statements under FRS105 and FRS102 using software such as Tax Calc, including the preparation of group accounts.
2. Tax Computations: Draft corporation tax computations in Tax Calc.
3. Management Accounts: Create periodic management accounts using Xero, Sage, or similar software.
4. Client Interaction: Build client rapport, understand their specific needs, and ensure clear, professional communication.
5. Additional Services: Identify areas for other services that may benefit clients.
Requirements
1. AAT, ACCA or studier, or qualified by experience, with a background in accountancy practice.
2. Accounts production experience is key.
3. Experience using cloud-based accounting software like Iris, Xero, Quickbooks, Excel, and Word.
4. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines.
5. Competent in preparing financial statements and corporation tax returns.
6. Ability to develop strong client and internal relationships and offer value-added services.
7. Good attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
