Purpose of the Role The post holder will be primarily responsible for leading and co-ordinating Projects within the Digital Directorate.

The Project Manager will be required to effectively manage their own workload.
The Project Manager will manage and support several projects, including the managements of actions & risks appropriately to meet the needs of the organisation.
They will contribute to and maintain a PRINCE2 based project support system and associated functions Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability Creating, maintaining & updating project documentation, including o Project mobilisation plans, tasks, milestones, dates, timescales, dependencies & resources o Project Risks, risk scores, impacts, mitigating plans, & controls o Project Actions, timescales, owners, & RAG rating o Project Issues, RAG rating, impacts, mitigating plans, and controls o Project Communication & Engagement Plans Regular meetings and communication with relevant parties, including: o Arranging relevant meetings, and keeping project communication log up-to-date Project Team meetings Meeting with Project Board re updates, any scope creep, and on gaining authority to proceed with different stages of projects Project Exec Sponsor meetings & updates Project Subject Matter Expert meetings & updates Project Team Members 1-2-1 meetings Relevant project workshops & scoping sessions Raising concerns to Line Manager, PMO, Project Exec Lead &/or project board that will impact on project delivery, budget, scope, timescales &/or reputation Creating, maintaining & updating reports for: o Monthly Change Management Programme Board (CMPB) – top-level project update o Regular Project Boards – Reporting on project status, health, progress & risk o Financial reporting – working with finance team to report on spend against budget & original business case o Value Realisation & reporting against ROI – evidencing that the project has delivered against it’s original measurable objectives & deliverables o Project closure, including the gathering, sharing, and implementing learnings from lessons learnt into future projects Supporting in the maintenance & updating of Portfolios' of work o Logging all known of projects within the organisations portfolio -current and future o Ensuring projects are up-to-date to ensure reporting from plans & risk logs are accurate o Clear priority & status of projects, progress, stage & dates o Working with Senior Management Teams (SMT) & Execs to ensure accuracy of portfolio o Supporting wider Digital Directorate with presentations, additional project documentation, and updating Business Plans & Presentations o Linkage of PMO resource to projects, and flagging capacity/resource concerns & issues Person Specification Experience of matrix style working across organisations, influencing staff at all levels to work towards goals when there is no direct control or reporting line.
Experience in all aspects of project process, documentation, and administration relating to successful management, communication, and delivery of projects Experience in business case completion, managing budgets, and financially reporting expenditure against Financial Model Templates & business cases Experience of operating within a Digital/IT environment Ability to successfully obtain & present updates from project team to ensure all tasks, owners, dates, timescales and dependencies are identified, updated and reported against
