Role: Mechanical Engineering Manager

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm
Location: Smethwick, West Midlands - Commutable from Dudley, Kidderminster, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Halesowen, Shirley, Redditch, Bromsgrove and surrounding areas
This industrial manufacturing company near Smethwick are seeking a proactive Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead their team of 25 Mechanical specialists, undertaking Planned Preventative Maintenance, responding to breakdowns and delivering engineering projects within their complex manufacturing environment.
The company successfully manufactures and exports a wide range of industrial products to businesses across the globe. The Mechanical Engineering Manager will need to be an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is comfortable leading a large team and will have previously led teams as a Supervisor, Team Lead, Manager or department Head and is suitably qualified with ideally, a Mechanical related Degree or a HNC as a minimum. This role represents an exciting opportunity to lead a large team within a complex manufacturing environment, with good opportunities to continue to grow your professional knowledge & expertise through internal & external training.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
* A highly experience Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years mechanical engineering experience within manufacturing or production environments.
* Successful experience of leading, mentoring & coaching mechanical engineering / maintenance teams as a Supervisor, Team Lead, Manager or department Head.
* Must have experience of leading sizable mechanical teams within manufacturing or production environments.
* Current or previous Mechanical maintenance department management experience is highly beneficial.
* Along with planned maintenance & breakdowns, have experience in managing mechanical project engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge & experience of CMMS systems.
* Excellent people leadership and management skills.
* Strong commitment to Safety, Health & Environmental, with the ability to maintain and promote a safe operating culture across the department.
* Preferably qualified with a Mechanical Engineering Degree although not essential, a HNC or higher qualification is required as a minimum.
* The ability to manage multiple complex jobs simultaneously and to empower the team through delegating effectively.
