Job Title: Shift Engineer (including Electrical Engineer) Department: Maintenance Reports to: Plant Technical Services Manager and Reactive Engineering Supervisor Job Description The objective of the department is the maintenance and installation of electronics and instrumentation as well as maintenance and development of energy supplies (utilities). For more specialist electromechanical activities an external company may be required. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in the electromechanical area, ensuring tasks are carried out swiftly and conform with required specifications, complying with safety regulations. Plant reliability objective. The shift engineer reports to engineering supervisor and co-operates with colleagues on 4 shift system plus day shift colleagues. The shift engineer frequently works outside of office hours and will be expected to work independently using own initiative. Outside day service the shift engineer is headed by the shift managers. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Carry out small projects. Identify common electrical faults. Read and work from circuit diagrams. To be able to interrogate the SCADA system Present an accurate assessment of the issue to the shift manager, and any on shift colleagues who require that information. Whilst carrying out the required repairs Accompanying contractors that are temporarily added to the shift. To give assistance to external employees who are deployed from an outside company To carry out PPM inspection rounds, assessing the state of equipment on the basis of check lists and own insight, noting findings and discussing measures to taken with the shift manager or engineering supervisor To carry out corrective maintenance repairs on a timely basis Fault finding and RCA Register all activities taken in the automated maintenance system (SAP), Recording of hours worked and details of the tasks carried out on the SAP system Follow all safety procedures including LOTO (log off/tag out) Any other reasonable task as requested by your supervisor/manager Management/ Leadership Skills Required Qualifications A recognised engineering qualification, City & Guilds or HNC equivalent Lamb Weston chemical training, HS, GMP and food safety desirable Experience 3 years maintenance engineering experience within an automated manufacturing operation 2-3 years’ manufacturing experience SAP/SCADA experience COMPANY VALUES Integrity We do the right thing every time, even when no one is looking Inclusion We embrace differences and make it safe to be ourselves because we all count Empowerment We think like leaders and act like owners Teamwork see the bigger picture and become stronger by putting our heads together Drive for results We challenge ourselves and each other to find better ways to do things, raising the bar for what’s possible We offer you a challenging job in a dynamic and growing organization in the food industry.
