Training course: Early years educator (level 3)
Hours: Monday - Friday, term-time only, 8:30am - 12:45pm plus additional hours for guided learning. Total: 24 hours 30 minutes a week.
Duration: 1 year 6 months.
Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Plan and organise appropriate educational activities to meet The Early Years Foundation Stage and the needs of individual children.
* Be sensitive to the needs of all the children in the nursery, showing the utmost care and attention.
* Maintain a safe and secure environment for the children.
* Maintain and administer children’s records appropriate to individual children’s stages of development.
* Ensure that children’s development is tracked and appropriate interventions are implemented to promote good child development.
* Liaise with parents, promoting effective parent/carers partnership.
* Uphold the policies and procedures of the Project, especially those relating to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, and Child Protection.
* Prioritise the safety and welfare of children at all times, following the Project’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Procedures.
* Provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive play environment where individuals are valued and appropriate adaptations are made to maximise all children’s engagement with play.
* Work within a team and maintain good communications.
* Adhere to the confidentiality policy.
* Attend all staff meetings and Project training days as required.
* Contribute to the evaluation of services delivered.
* Attend relevant and mandatory training courses.
* Maintain an appropriate Safeguarding and First Aid Certificate.
* Undertake personal professional development and training as appropriate.
