Due to continued expansion, we're recruiting an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our Chesterfield client on a permanent basis.
Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for working predominantly within technical support, adding to a varied role that also includes the preparation of new machinery prior to sale, repair of customers' machinery in our workshop, and sometimes on-site. You will provide assistance to our customers and independent engineers via telephone, face-to-face, and other correspondence methods.
The role would suit a qualified and experienced plant or agricultural machinery engineer. Candidates with lesser experience may be considered, depending on attitude and mindset, as we are prepared to train and grow someone who shows great potential.
Duties for the role:
1. Assist with technical support for customers and dealers, including users and engineers, through face-to-face, telephone, email, and other communication methods.
2. Provide training and advice to customers' engineers, dealers, and service partners.
3. Service and repair customers' machines both in our workshop and sometimes in the field.
4. Conduct technical and warranty repairs and fault finding of customers' machines.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
1. For lesser experienced candidates, a relevant apprenticeship must have been completed.
2. Qualifications in plant or agricultural machinery engineering or a related field.
3. Good mechanical, low voltage DC electric, and hydraulic skills.
4. A good knowledge of hydrostatic drive pumps and systems is desirable.
5. Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
6. Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and prove fault diagnosis without component swapping.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills (face-to-face, telephone, written, and other methods).
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Willingness to travel for work.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
11. Valid driver's license (maximum 3 penalty points).
