We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Sales Manager to join us to assist in the development of sales within the Retail sector in the North of the UK through specification of Gerflor & Gradus company products.
Base and geographical area:
You will be based at home with approximately 80% travel throughout the North of the UK. You will predominantly cover Manchester and Birmingham.
The area also includes Scotland & North Wales, however seldom physical presence will be required in these areas.
There will be on average 1 night overnight stay per week.
The role:
Reporting to the Head of Retail, you will focus equally on maintaining and developing our existing customer base as well as identifying and securing new contract accounts within designated geographical areas.
The sectors you will be working within include: High Street Retailers, Corporate End Users, Interior Furnishings, A&D, Specification sales, End Users, Main contractors.
Main responsibilities:
* Securing project specifications with high street retailers, to follow the same from beginning (specification) to end (supply)
* Assisting the Head of Retail in defining and implementing a clear strategy for the development of the Retail Sector in line with the company’s overall strategy.
* Gathering market intelligence to help estimate market potential and market share of Gerflor and its competitors.
* Attending appropriate exhibitions within Europe.
* Ensuring customer account and project data is kept up to date
* Listening to market and customer feedback to maintain an aligned approach and competitive advantage
About you
This role is suited to an experienced sales professional with a successful track record; it would be an advantage to have existing contacts and experience with a building products bias.
You’ll be confident in proposing and delivering strong practical innovative business plans and have a collaborative approach to motivate others but within a largely autonomous role.

* Solid experience in a new business development or a senior sales capacity ideally in the Retail Sector
* Experience of B2B selling
* Excellent interpersonal skills and attitude
* Flexible, dynamic, and highly organised method of working
* Confident communicator – verbal and written
* Passion for providing excellent customer service
* Keen eye for detail
* Results driven
* Experience in the retail sector – from selling to, or working within - Desirable
* Understanding of the shopfitting and retail design processes - Desirable
* Experience of B2C selling and specifying - Desirable
* Experience of the commercial flooring and interiors industry - Desirable
