Job summary Owing to service developments, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to co-lead our specialist inpatient team providing a service to elective orthopaedics. This is a fast paced environment with short lengths of stay for patients undergoing a range of joint replacement surgeries. Main duties of the job The caseload is varied, covering pre-operative clinics and medirooms in addition to ward based therapy. This includes planned joint replacement surgeries, requiring a range of therapeutic skills to assess function, social and environmental needs for discharge planning and onward referrals. There is close team working and links with community partners in the wider health and care system to address needs at all stages of the clinical pathway, with occupational therapy playing a crucial role.
