What We Are Looking For As a tutor, you will deliver innovative and inspiring teaching in our Level 1 and Level 2 Catering, Hospitality, and Tourism courses for learners aged 16–18, including those with or without Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will support learners to develop their practical and theoretical knowledge, working with them to achieve their career aspirations. Your responsibilities will include: Designing and delivering interactive lessons that combine theory and practical skills, aligned with industry standards. Assessing and providing feedback on learner performance to support progress. Managing and maintaining accurate records of learner performance and assessments. Creating an inclusive learning environment, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion across all activities. Supporting learners with varying learning needs, including those with EHCPs. Key Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: Qualifications: Relevant Industry Experience: Proven experience in Catering, Hospitality, and Tourism, either in practical or theoretical roles, with a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices. Level 3 Qualification (or equivalent) in Catering, Hospitality, or Tourism: Required for teaching Level 1 and Level 2 courses. Teaching Qualification (or willingness to work towards one): A formal teaching qualification is desirable, though not essential. Skills and Experience: Teaching or Transferable Skills: Previous experience in teaching, training, or mentoring (either formal or informal) or a strong passion for transferring your existing skills into a teaching role. Experience with EHCPs: Knowledge and experience working with learners who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), with the ability to provide tailored support to meet diverse needs. Industry-Relevant Knowledge: A strong grasp of current practices, trends, and industry standards in Catering, Hospitality, and Tourism. Lesson Planning and Delivery: Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons that balance theoretical knowledge with practical skills, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for students. Inclusive Teaching Approach: Proven ability to create and maintain an inclusive learning environment, adapting to the needs of all learners, including those with varying abilities and backgrounds. Assessment and Feedback: Experience in conducting formative and summative assessments to track learner progress and provide actionable, constructive feedback. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with learners, staff, and stakeholders. Resilience: Ability to maintain a professional, calm approach in challenging situations, fostering a positive, engaging learning environment. Motivational: Passion for motivating and inspiring learners, creating an environment where students feel supported to achieve their best. Adaptability: Flexible in adjusting teaching strategies to meet the needs of a diverse learner group, ensuring success for all learners.
