If so then continue reading We are looking for a committed and hardworking individual to join us as Children's Residential Support Workers to provide our young people aged 7-18 with a home they can call their own, a place they can relax and focus on their personal development and smoothly transition into adulthood. Please note we require a minimum of 6 months UK based experience in residential care specifically with children for you to be considered for the position and we do not offer any sponsorship options. A full UK driving licence would also be essential. As a provider of residential care for over 30 years with children and young people, we have built up the reputation of ensuring all our young people's needs are met and providing them a stable and homely environment and a home they can relax and enjoy. Each of homes are modern and welcoming and furnished to a high standard. We allow our young people to have an input on colour schemes for their own personal space so they can be as comfortable as possible. Some of our young people have suffered some form of trauma in their young lives and can be quite challenging at times, so we apply a therapeutic approach offering patience, understanding and a sympathetic ear. We also want ensure they feel they have a voice that is being listened to and they can express their feelings at all times and feel comfortable doing so. Duties will include guiding our young people on the path to independence and helping them grow in confidence, teaching skills such as cooking, cleaning and budget management and also enjoying holidays and activities, so we can be assured they will be ready to live an independent life when the time arrives. Shifts will be a early, late and sleep combined (24 hours) and you will be expected to complete up to 10 full shifts a month. This will ensure you will get plenty of rest days and enjoy a good work/life balance, this is important to maintain energy and enthusiasm for the role during your shift days. Salary for the role will be £31,000 this is based on a basic salary of £22,900 and 10 sleep shifts (sleep bonus of £75.74 per completed sleep), due to the nature of the role, some flexibility would be required.
