We’re seeking a part-time Project Manager to drive forward the aims of the UK Rainforest Network over the next year.
The Network is where relevant British charities (National Trust, Woodland Trust, Plantlife and the Wildlife Trusts) meet with local Rainforest Alliances from across the four nations. It’s all about effective communication to ensure we’re pulling in the same direction to do more together for this special habitat.
This is a part-time, fixed term role ending in April 2026. We anticipate you’ll work four days per week, but we’re willing to be flexible for the right person.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the National Trust’s Senior National Consultant for Trees and Woodland, you’ll work closely with representatives from our UK Rainforest Network partners to arrange regular UK Rainforest Network meetings, providing support with governance, agendas and reporting (including chairing some meetings).
You’ll also co-ordinate and drive activity amongst Network sub-groups, work proactively to develop the Network to maximise its effectiveness and ensure long term sustainability, including exploring future funding sources.
You’ll organise a review of current UK Rainforest management projects and guidance across the partnership, bringing greater consistency and clarity to best practice guides and resources and complete other work on behalf of the network that will benefit regional alliances and improve our collective understanding and management of temperate rainforest.

1. Project management skills, as well as the motivation to drive projects forward and the confidence to make decisions
2. A genuine passion for woodland and conservation
3. Experience of working with a range of partners from different organisations, with different objectives and motivations, to achieve common aims
4. Written and verbal communication skills
