About the role
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Financial Accounts team of the organisation which consists of 2 other team members. The role would take ownership of the financial processing of all transactions (including Accounts Payable), supervising and managing month-end processes, and the production of the group statutory accounts whilst liaising with auditors throughout the audit period.
The role would also oversee all financial and procurement systems, whilst also supporting teams on tax related queries.
The Senior Financial Accountant role is seen as an integral part of the team who would work closely with the Management Accounts team, whilst being supported by the Finance Manager.

As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will be an experienced financial professional with a robust background in accounting and financial management. Your expertise includes a deep understanding of financial reporting, compliance, and analysis. You possess a strong analytical mindset and the ability to interpret complex financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
You thrive in working as part of a team, demonstrating a natural ability to guide and mentor team members while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Good coordination and planning skills and the ability to build strong working relationships are crucial in working with the wider teams to help achieve the organisation achieve their goals.
You’ll have excellent attention to detail and enjoy ensuring a strong project management approach to delivery work, using these skills in a way that adds value and supports the outcomes of the team.
The candidate must be a •Professionally qualified accountant and a member of a recognised accounting body (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA).
