We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced ‘Operations & Process Optimisation Manager’ to drive operational improvements, manage key processes, and contribute to our commitment to safety, compliance, and productivity.
The Role
As the Operations & Process Optimisation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational experience to optimise our workflows, manage supplier relationships, oversee waste processes, and motivate teams to achieve high productivity standards. You’ll work closely with the Site Lead Management Team and Directors to ensure alignment with business goals and provide key insights for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Efficiency
* Streamline and optimise workflows across administration, collections, dismantling, and disposal processes, including exploring automation opportunities.
* Develop best practices for handling new waste streams from acceptance to processing.
* Plan and manage the flow of waste materials to support smooth, cost-effective operations.
Supplier & Resource Management
* Identify and engage with new suppliers for materials like nylon, metals, and plastics to enhance cost-efficiency and sustainability.
* Build and maintain supplier relationships to meet business and budgetary needs.
Team Leadership & Motivation
* Manage and set targets for Heads of Departments (HODs), fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
* Support, motivate, and train staff to improve productivity and contribute to a positive work environment.
Safety & Compliance
* Oversee compliance with safety regulations, including managing near misses, accident investigations, and Trans Frontier Shipment (TFS) processes.
Performance & Financial Reporting
* Report weekly to senior management, presenting insights and recommendations.
* Monitor departmental spending, ensuring budget compliance and cost control.
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in operations management, preferably within waste management or a process-driven industry.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimisation and efficiency.
* Excellent leadership abilities, with experience in setting KPIs and inspiring teams.
* Strong understanding of compliance and safety protocols in an industrial environment.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to present findings to senior management.
* Knowledge of automation and lean methodologies is a plus.
