Overview
London Borough of Harrow is looking for a tenacious, methodically minded and experienced Social Worker to join our Children in Care team.
The postholder will be the allocated Social Worker to complete assessments for children in care, including those in need of protection, children looked after, those subject to public care proceedings and, where directed by the Court, children subject to private law proceedings. The social worker shall be responsible for the assessment, planning, monitoring and review functions for all allocated children and families. Furthermore, the caseload will consist of a number of children and families, including children in need of support, those in need of protection, and children looked after, requiring a statutory service. This role includes responsibilities for the assessment, planning, monitoring, and review functions for all allocated children and families.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
1. Have a Social Work Qualification i.e. CQSW, DipSW or equivalent.
2. Be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
3. Able to pass a clear enhanced DBS check.
4. Experience of user consultation and participation focusing on the needs of service users and carers.
5. A detailed knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and other legislation relating to children plus other statutory regulations, guidance and procedures.
6. A detailed knowledge of the “Framework for the Assessment of Children and Their Families.”
7. Working knowledge of all statutory duties and responsibilities relating to children and families, including:
1. Legislation
2. Regulations and Standards
3. Government Objectives and Initiatives
4. National and Common Assessment Framework
