Job Purpose Reporting to the Goods In Manager, the Goods In Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a collaborative work to ensure the correct products are received, moved, and stored correctly in receipt for delivery, whilst adhering to all performance, efficiency, quality, and safety standards. Overall supervision of the work completions and reporting on performance throughout the business is critical to ensure a smooth process is executed. The purpose of the role is to act as relief and support for the Goods In Manager and Production Manager in achieving and exceeding the KPI’s for the area. Duties include: • Act as role model and ambassador towards our Company values • Monitor and record production figures and requirements against forecast and statistics to ensure the goods in area is running as efficiently as possible. • Ensure good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards, health and safety requirements, and food safety requirements are met and always maintained within the area. • Ensure all paperwork for area is accurate and complete. • Ensure all line standards, health and safety requirements, and food safety requirements are met. • Quality spot check audits to ensure correct products are picked as per plan. • Highlight, and plan in, training and development for your team. • Ensure the correct equipment is in place, safe to use, and relevant training has been given. • Maintain a clean as you go policy. • Control and manage production numbers, downtime, wastage, ingredients usage and investigate any discrepancies. • Encourage and mentor the team to foster a positive working environment, acting as first point of contact to resolve any minor people related issues. • Escalate and manage any repeated or more serious people related issues to Management and HR. • Liaise with other Supervisors to utilise staff in other areas and maximise efficiency. Health Safety • Responsible for Health and Safety within the area and ensuring team adherence to H&S policies and procedures. • To support in the generation of Risk Assessments and SSOP • Proactive identification of H&S hazards, supporting and ensuring that all actions are closed off on time including corrective actions following incidents/audits/accidents. • Supporting with training on SSOW and SOPs Skills include: • Experience of managing a team within a sortation or warehouse environment. • Exposure to working in cold environments. • Lifting and unloading of items on and off vehicles – physical fitness is important. • Manual handling experience and relevant training, although will be provided. • Logical thinking and attention to detail for counting of stock and goods. • Experience in leadership, coaching or team management (desirable – ILM qualification) • Understanding of the fundamentals of food production and HACCP control.
