An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of an experienced registered nurse within the Integrated Acute Assessment Unit (IAAU) at Scunthorpe General Hospital.
Naturally, IAAU is a fast-paced environment where we aim to assess, diagnose, treat and either admit patients to the appropriate wards or discharge them home. IAAU sees patients from a variety of specialties including Medical, Surgical, Urology, Orthopedic, and now Gynaecology has joined us. We are a 26-bedded area, co-located with Same Day Emergency Care Unit which houses 28 chairs and 8 treatment chairs. It will be an expectation that the successful candidate will work across both areas of IAAU & SDEC.
The unit is fast-paced, well-led, and organised, making it a great place to learn. Our established nurses are experienced mentors who are supportive, friendly, and possess a wide range of transferable extended skills.
The IAAU & SDEC area is co-located and works hand in hand together. There will be an expectation that you work across both departments to work both days and nights. We work cohesively and there is no “I” in OUR team – we work alongside each other and together.
Successful candidates will be well-supported, and a bespoke training package will be tailored to suit individual learning needs. You will acquire a broad range of extended skills to complement your passion for nursing including but not limited to venepuncture, cannulation, and catheterisation. You will have access to a wealth of knowledge to help you develop your nursing career – ranging from consultants, specialty doctors, and specialist nurses. We want to invest in YOU. In return, we ask that you are positive, enthusiastic, and passionate in delivering the 6C’s of nursing.
