Main duties of the job
To be a skilled member of the theatre team in a variety of surgical specialities and or disciplines.
Demonstrate a high level of dexterity when working in the operating field as Scrub Anaesthetic assistant and Recovery.
Inform Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse of any untoward incidents or problem areas affecting patients or staff and participate in the investigations.
Ensure all equipment is in good, safe working order and ready for immediate use. Immediately report to the nurse in charge of the suite any defective equipment, inadequate provisions or supplies.
Act, at all times, as the patients' advocate to ensure their safety, well-being and dignity.
Assess the patients' levels of anxiety and provide advice and reassurance as necessary.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in Scrub, Anaesthetic and Recovery.
* Experience in Paediatric Nursing and PILS trained/ILS.
* Ability to work in: Surgical scrub.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered ODP (Dip (HE) Operating Department Practice).
* NMC registered Nurse (Advanced Diploma/Degree In Adult Health Nursing).
* Learning and Assessing in Practice (or equivalent teaching/mentoring qualification).
* Patient Care in Anaesthesia (or equivalent Anaesthetic CPD module).
