Eden Scott are pleased to be supporting their Renewable Energy Developer client to appoint a graduate into their Development team.
Our client is a renewable development team, responsible for identifying suitable renewable energy project opportunities and then undertaking the required grid connection, land agreement and planning processes to obtain successfully developed projects. Following the development phase of the projects, they will then be constructed and operated long term.
Role and Responsibilities
The role, based in Glasgow, will be to support in the development and delivery of high-quality renewable energy projects by leading individual tasks and supporting senior team members in other tasks.
In particular, the role-holder will be expected to undertake site development activities such as undertaking initial site feasibility reviews, grid applications and engineering activities and then managing contractors and consultants in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments and Planning Applications leading to successful planning consents and optimal grid connection offers.
The role-holder is anticipated to have a wide range of technical capability, a real desire to succeed and be able to work autonomously and propose innovative solutions to problems.
Skills and Experience
1. Experience (such as an internship, project roles) within the renewable energy project development industry, in particular supporting the development of solar PV, battery storage and onshore wind projects.
2. Experience of supporting the development and delivery of projects at various stages in the project lifecycle.
3. Experience in the use of technical software (such as AutoCAD, GIS, PVSyst).
4. A basic understanding of project financial management and project economics.
5. An ability to anticipate project issues and propose creative solutions.
6. An ability to translate technical detail into commercial impact.
7. An ability to manage several project tasks at once and be able to plan and prioritise project workload.
