Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide individualized academic and behavioural support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN or SEMH, helping them with academic work and personal development. Assist the classroom teacher in implementing behaviour management strategies to support student engagement and positive behaviour. Work collaboratively with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to implement individual education plans and ensure that each student's needs are being met. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued. Qualifications Previous experience in providing 1:1 support and academic assistance to individuals with SEN or SEMH. Understanding of behaviour management techniques and the ability to effectively implement strategies to support student behaviour. Knowledge of special education needs and best practices for supporting students with diverse learning needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and other staff members. Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs support is desirable. Day-to-day Provide personalized academic support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive behaviour and student engagement in the classroom. Collaborate with the SENCo and classroom teacher to ensure that each student's specific needs are met. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive and develop their skills.
