Job summary We have a rare opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Audiologist/Clinical Scientist to lead audiology services. The service includes bases at Hull Royal Infirmary, two modern community sites (East Riding Community Hospital & Bransholme Health Centre) and four additional satellite clinics. You will be Head of Service for a combined adult and paediatric service incorporating a newborn hearing screening team. You will have a strategic role working with key stakeholders to secure essential specialist paediatric accommodation at a locally planned Hull CDC, maintain IQIPS accreditation and extend scope to include paediatric IQIPS, deliver the workforce plan, establish new pathways of care needed to streamline ENT support and to work closely with the RNID to expand an existing "Near You hearing aid support" service. You will work with Heads of Audiology service within Humber & North Yorkshire ICB to develop and implement shared pathways of care expected as a part of transformation of audiology services within the ICB footprint. You will lead the Audiology Planning and Governance Group reporting to and working closely with the Head and Neck Care Group Operational Directors to sustain and secure effective and deliverable audiology services. Main duties of the job 1.To manage and lead the clinical services provided by the Audiology Department. 2. To work closely with the Head and Neck Care Group, Service Managers, Service Commissioners and ENT Physicians, to provide and develop audiological services. 3. To be thoroughly familiar with and actively involved in all of the routine and selective specialist / advanced practitioner services of the department. 4. To manage and lead the departments governance systems (risks, quality, incidents and complaints). 5.To oversee the implementation of new technology and have the lead responsibility for customising and maintaining the overall technology, including audiology's proprietary IT systems operating across a number of sites. 6. To liaise with outside suppliers and manufactures, other Audiology Departments and relevant statutory bodies and work in close partnership with voluntary bodies and community services. 7. Provide managerial support for the newborn hearing screening programme (NHSP), including covering for the NHSP Team Lead in their absence.
