Research Scientist – Oncology (In Vivo) | Loughborough, UK

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Carrying out clinical observations to monitor animal health and welfare, ensuring early detection of any issues.
* Supporting the daily welfare checks and care of animals, in line with strict ethical and regulatory guidelines.
* Generating high-quality data and reports to support research projects.
* Training and mentoring colleagues on experimental procedures to maintain best practices.
* Maintaining a clean, sterile working environment and ensuring high standards of facility management.
* Reviewing and updating processes to improve efficiency and maintain compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Experience in animal handling, dosing, sampling, and surgical techniques (such as anaesthesia, suturing, and PDX models).
✔ Strong understanding of welfare assessment and clinical signs recording .
✔ Familiarity with the Home Office Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 .
✔ Confident using MS Office Suite and laboratory management systems like LIMS/Study Log.
✔ Someone with great attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.
✔ A flexible approach to work, including some weekend and out-of-hours availability.
