As a HV Cable Project Manager at Siemens Energy in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, GB, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of turnkey HV substation projects for one of our key customers. You will work within one of our Systems delivery teams and collaborate with Technical Lead Engineers, Procurement teams, and Installation & Commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Your role will involve managing all aspects of the project, including technical, procurement, and quality information, while maintaining high standards of Health and Safety throughout the project. You will also be responsible for managing risks, variations, and opportunities, as well as preparing progress reports and engaging with customers on technical queries and project reporting. Additionally, you may support the tendering department on future project opportunities.
What you bring
We are seeking a candidate with Project Engineering/Contract Management experience in the Transmission & Distribution Industry. You should have a strong understanding of Transmission & Distribution standards and technologies, as well as knowledge of Substation Primary & Secondary Systems. It is important that you have a good knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety and Environmental Regulations, as well as Risk Management processes. Experience in contractual management, particularly with NEC, is essential for this role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with a strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and proactive approach.
How you'll make an impact
As a Cable Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of turnkey HV substation projects for our key customers. You will work within one of our Systems delivery teams and collaborate with Technical Lead Engineers, Procurement teams, and Installation & Commissioning teams on all aspects of project delivery. Your responsibilities will include ensuring delivery on technical, procurement, and quality information, maintaining outstanding Health and Safety Standards, and aligning with PM standards and Business Conduct Guidelines.
You will also be responsible for identifying and handling potential risks, variations, and opportunities, as well as coordinating the programme and costs of the project. Additionally, you will prepare Monthly Progress Reports, engage with customers on discussions and technical queries, and support the tendering department on future project opportunities.
