Provide effective, responsive and insightful analysis to support the coaching staff, providing insights on the team’s on-pitch performance and to assist the lead coach with the coaching sessions and on a matchday.
Responsible for:
Assistant to the lead coach and providing Coaching Insights
Key relationships:
Internal – Academy Players/parents, Academy Manager, Head of Coaching, Lead Analyst, Lead Academy Coaching Staff, Part Time Coaching Staff, Medical staff, Lead S&C Coach, Head of Recruitment, and Head of Operations.
External – Opposition Club Coaches, Parents, Regulatory Bodies (EFL, The FA, PFA, LFE)
Key responsibilities:
1. Assist the delivery of the coaching sessions and games programme in the YDP age groups.
2. Lead aspects of the coaching delivery within the YDP age groups.
3. Lead on the production and presentation of compelling, innovative and inspirational coaching analysis to the lead coach; providing a responsive, best-in-class service that makes effective use of all available resources.
4. Deliver analysis to the coaching staff, multi-disciplinary team and players.
5. Work collaboratively to provide pre-match, opposition, live-match, post-match, set-play, training and player development video, data and other analysis to the men’s first team.
6. Ensure the Head Coach, coaching staff, support staff and players are supported with the appropriate resources and analysis to aid their performance.
7. Research opposition to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential game strategies of upcoming opponents, delivering insights to the coaching team.
8. Produce specific analysis projects as and when required by the Head Coach and coaching team.
9. Role model the club’s values and valued behaviours.
General responsibilities:
1. Ensure you work towards your own Development Action Plan assigned to you by the Head of Coaching in line with the coach competency framework (CCF).
2. Flexibility to work in this role is essential – evenings and weekend work required.
3. Annual leave to be taken as agreed with the Head of Coaching.
4. Attend all County insights and research events as instructed by Head of Coaching.
5. Contribute to parents’ evenings and other phases where required.
6. Participate in all relevant meetings.
7. Display high standards of performance as outlined in SCFC staff code of conduct.
8. Contribute towards a positive working environment.
9. Provide genuine care for players within the Academy and offer a safe environment where players can succeed.
10. Undertake other duties as directed by the Academy Manager or technical board if asked to do so.
About The Candidate
Skills required:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to use a variety of communication tools (verbal, written, digital).
2. Strong organisational and administrative skills.
3. IT skills to include the ability to use performance analysis software and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge & qualifications required:
Essential:
1. First aid qualified (EFAIF level 2).
2. UEFA B License.
3. Youth Award/Advance Youth Award.
4. FA Safeguarding & Child Protection.
5. Experience of HUDL/VEO.
Desirable:
1. UEFA A- License.
2. Sports Coaching/Science or Sports Management Degree.
3. Education / pedagogy.
Experience required:
1. Working in an elite sporting environment and understanding how elite footballers are developed.
2. Leading and managing people.
3. Experience working across academy age groups.
4. Understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
5. Experience of scouting & talent identification processes and procedures.
6. IT skills to include the ability to use Performance Management Application (FIP) software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
