About the opportunity:
1. Report directly to the Senior Buyer, overseeing the procurement of materials and services while supporting the purchasing needs of the team.
2. Procure goods and services for construction sites across the country, collaborating with site teams to ensure timely deliveries.
3. Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain communication with site teams and the commercial department.
4. Serve as the primary point of contact with suppliers, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly.
5. Coordinate tendering processes in collaboration with the Estimating department.
6. Proofread and review your own work and ensure Trainee Buyer's work adheres to financial governance and standards.
7. Foster and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures.
8. Manage administrative tasks, including material order documentation and procurement scheduling.
About the benefits and rewards:
The salary will be dependent on the level of exposure to the residential industry. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary in the region of up to £35k DOE. In addition to the basic salary, there will be further company benefits.
About the requirements:
1. Knowledge of Best Practice Procurement Tools, Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, and Health & Safety Legislation.
2. Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications; experience with design packages is a plus.
3. Prior experience in procurement, purchasing materials, sub-contractors, and plant preferred.
4. Strong organizational skills, able to plan and manage workload effectively.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with all levels of seniority.
